If you’re a fashion aficionado and you happen to be in Paris, Sonia Rykiel is putting on a retrospective of her style at Les Arts Décoratifs, which is part of a celebration of her 40 years in the fashion industry. The show runs from November 20th to April 19th. In addition, you can read her new book “Le Femme Rykiel.”
The exhibition will showcase around 200 outfits, giving an example of her signature styles and influences she has had on other designers.




On Thursday, Versace held their first fashion show in Beijing, China where they raised more than $100,000 for survivors of May’s earthquake in the China’s Sichuan province.
Versace held their show at the Legation Quarter, home to the U.S. embassy in the final days of imperial China. Versace displayed the Spring/Summer 2009 collection in front of the Chinese elite, including action star Jet Li.
Donatella Versace told Reuters that she would like to make China a regular stop on the fashion tour. Versace, which is owned by Donatella, her brother Santo and daughter Allegra, believe that China will be a source of growth, especially during the economic crisis. Chief Executive Giancarlo Di Risio expects that Versace will make Asia its second largest market behind Europe by the end of next year. Versace is opening 11 new stores this year and will invest $56.09 million this year.
“China is a strategic country for the company. We are really focusing on China,” Donatella said.

Alexander McQueen will create a collection called McQ Alexander McQueen for Target. The collection has a rock n’ roll influence with a lot of studs and tattoo designs. T.I.L. Darlings should already know how much I’m looking forward to this trend this coming Spring/Summer 2009. This is all part of Target’s fashion initiative called Designer Collaborations. This initiative will focus on young or emerging designers.
The McQ Alexander McQueen for Target will be available in March.

If you’ve been following our blog, I’m in total support of the rock star trend. There is one designer who has dedicated her entire Spring/Summer 2009 Season to what she calls “ethnic rock.” What is there to say about Sirivannavari? Well, she is a Thai Princess!!!
