Blake Lively, the 23 year old star of “Gossip Girl,” will be the new official ambassador for Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag line and ads are set to appear in April.

Anna Wintour, American Vogue editor, introduced Karl Lagerfeld to Lively during last July’s Paris Fashion Week, where the three dined together the night before Chanel’s fashion show.

Alexander Wang Wins The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award

On Monday night, Alexander Wang took home $200,000 and a year’s worth of mentoring. Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai of Vena Cava and Albertus Q. Swanepoel of Albertus Quartus were this year’s runners-up, and will each receive $50,000 and a business mentor.

The fund was founded by the Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue and is seen as an accelerator of fashion careers. Previous winners were Rogan in 2007, Doo-Ri Chung in 2006, Trovata in 2005 and Proenza Schouler in 2004. Past runners-up were 3.1 Phillip Lim, Philip Crangi Jewelry, Rodarte, Thakoon, Derek Lam, Thom Browne, Cloak and Habitual.

Juicy Couture opened it’s flagship store at 650 Fifth Avenue in New York City, bringing in ballerinas, stilt walkers, balloons, a pink carpet, Champagne, gospel choir, and a whole bunch of teenagers. Of course, there were the stars who came out to support.
