“Total Request Live” had is three hour finale last nigh in Times Square. TRL aired for 10 years before last night. ABC News calls “TRL” a contribution “to the identity of a generation.” A fan called it “an end of and era.”

For myself and I am technically part of that generation, but I never watched a full episode. I was never interested in a single song they played on “TRL.”

For those of us growing out of young adulthood, we all remember “Chris Gaines.” In fact, how can you really forget Chris Gaines. After all, it is by far the most laughed about real life alter ego in recent history. For those who do not know, Chris Gaines was an alter ego that country singer Garth Brooks created for a movie that would star Chris Gaines. Gaines recorded an album, made a VH1 “Behind the Scenes” appearance, and performed on Saturday Night Live. Guess what…There was no movie and quite honestly Garth Brooks was the butt of many jokes.

Unfortunately, Mrs. Jay-Z didn’t learn from watching Mr. Brooks make a joke of himself. Beyonce Knowles has named her new album “I Am . . . Sasha Fierce,” making a statement that when she is on stage she makes up this alter ego to protect her real self. According to Knowles, “”Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I’m working and when I’m on the stage.”


Sasha Fierce has even set-up a new myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/sashafierce) that offers a prize of a personal message and $500 gift bag to a visitor.


I know Beyonce Knowles is one of the most loved singers of our generation, but has she gone crazy??? BTW, Beyonce looks a lot different from what I remember. I have to say it ladies, but I think it’s because she’s getting older.
