Michelle Obama decided to wear an Alexander McQueen Dress for the state dinner for China. Of course, it should be remembered that Alexander McQueen did pass away last year and so this dress is designed by Sarah Burton under the McQueen label.

This post is for the hardcore fashion lovers.
The De Young Museum in San Francisco is hosting the Yves Saint Laurent exhibition, its only stop in the U.S. You can find more than 120 of the designer’s haute couture pieces. The work presents over 40 years of work, from his time at Dior to the final Spring/Summer 2002 collection.
YSL has been known for revolutionary pieces such as the first tuxedo for women (dubbed “le smoking”) in 1966 and introducing multicultural kimonos, Indian tunics and African prints into the mainstream.
Here are photos from the the De Young Museum opening.
During the Alexander McQueen catwalk at Paris Fashion Week, model Abbey Lee Kershaw from Australia fainted after she stepped off the catwalk. Her agent quickly blamed the “incredibly tight” leather bustier. Apparently, this was not the only outfit that caused a commotion. People who attended the catwalk were also talking about how McQueen’s outfits were too constricting.
Still, one has to ask whether or not her fainting spell has to generally do with Kershaw’s lifestyle, though who can say what it’s like.
Anyway, Abbey Lee Kershaw was able to attend other shows and strut her stuff.
