There are definitely key trends that we saw at the Golden Globes this year. The first trend is color. For the most part, most gowns were either in shade of blue or in neutral colors. There are some who say that the gowns in neutral were boring, but I personally think it is more important whether or not the actresses look good in the dress.

The second biggest trend was the off the shoulder dress. This trend just keeps on building steam. Two or three months ago, I said that I would be surprised if this trend makes it to the Spring 2009 season because so many stars were sporting the look already, but it just may live to see it through till the summer season.

Obviously, I think there are hits and misses, but the only one that really sticks in my mind is Renee Zellweger. Comic Kathy Griffin had a pretty mean and harsh nickname for Zellweger, but tonight I think it was dead on. I’m not going to write the nickname, but it’s not flattering and one has to wonder if it’s actually true.

One more thing, apparently Dior had or is going to have a great year because many of the actresses were seen in his designs.
