Michelle Obama is wearing a vintage green/yellow colored dress and overcoat from Isabel Toledo for the Inauguration Day Ceremonies. According to news sources, the dress is made out of satin-backed wool guipure, which is a kind of lace used it haute couture.

Isabel Toledo, 47, is Cuban-American and has been working as a fashion designer for 25 years. She has previously worked in the Anne Klein design house. Within the fashion circle, she is known as the “designer’s designer.”

Michelle Obama became a fan of Toledo through retailer Ikram Goldman, a Chicago store the First Lady is fond of.

The First Lady has already been seeing wearing an Isabel Toledo dress at the Vogue/Calvin Klein fundraiser last June.

The Dress was gorgeous, and a great fit for Michelle. The color scheme reflected her warmth, her grace, yet at the same time her strength in a “Steel Magnolia” sort of way. I loved it and I love her.
