No surprise, but aspiring models waiting in line to audition for America’s To Model panicked when they saw a car overheating. They feared that the car was going to explode, which is pretty rare from an overheating car, and a stampede began. Six people were injured and three people were arrested. There was original speculation that the commotion stemmed from an altercation between models, especially since there were reports of three arrests.
It turns out that three people were charged for throwing police barriers and “urging other to be disorderly and to riot.” They were officially charged with inciting a riot and disorderly conduct, as well as resisting arrest.
The police shut down the auditions because they felt it wasn’t organized properly, especially since police were not notified of the event that brought hundreds of people waiting in front of the Park Central New York Hotel.
