Tomorrow, March 28th from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. (your local time) switch off your lights for Earth Day. Someone has branded this as Earth Hour and shows your support for energy conservation and to send the message to political leaders attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference in December.
Here’s a list of folks joining in on Earth Hour:
The Empire State Building in New York City, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the St. Louis Gateway Arch, the Sydney Opera House, the Sears Tower in Chicago, Seattle’s Space Needle, the Great Pyramids and Sphinx in Egypt, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Broadway theater marquees in New York City.
For the very first time, the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign will go off, as well as the flashy Las Vegas Strip Hotel Lighting.
The golden arches at McDonald’s in New Zealand and Canada will go dark.
The Nashville Predators and the L.A. Kings hockey teams agreed to reschedule their game in Nashville to 5 p.m. The game should end around 7:30 p.m.
Blackberry addicts can log on before Earth Hour to a special website from Research in Motion. The company is encouraging fans of the mobile device to log-off for an hour and enjoy the silence.
You can download a free iPhone game to remind you — in advance — to turn off the lights on Saturday.
Auto insurance company Esurance will offset your car’s CO2 emissions at no extra cost if you buy an auto policy before Earth Hour.

Danica McKellar, best known from her role as Winnie Cooper on the television series “The Wonder Years,” has gotten married. Fred Savage, who played Kevin Arnold, did not attend, but his television parents did, Dan Lauria and Alley Mills.
Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Martone, an ad executive, are engage. The couple has been together for about one year. They have not set a wedding date.
Natasha Richardson, wife of actor Liam Neeson, has died at the age of 45 years-old. She was hospitalized last Sunday night. IrishCentral.com reported her in “critical condition” after a head trauma following a skiing accident.
The hospitalization occurred after Richardson fell at a beginners trail at Mont Tremblant ski resort in Montreal, Canada.
Obviously, I do not know anything about her and her family, but Liam Neeson has always seemed very likable in his interviews and so I can only guess that she was also a very nice person. So, I think it’s just really sad news.
You have to admit, the guy generally sounds like he’s telling the truth or wants to tell the truth, especially since he mentions the whole maturity thing. Nonetheless, there are obviously things he does not want to say with 100% transparency because of general privacy, but I think we can all understand.
